June 6, 2003 — Male breast cancer is uncommon, but most men who have it frequently do not realize it until it’s progressed.
That’s the finding from a modern think about, displayed at the American Society of Clinical Oncology yearly assembly held this week in Chicago.
Male breast cancer accounts for as it were around 1% of all breast cancer cases — or around 1,600 modern cases within the Joined together States in 2002.

In spite of these contrasts, the survival rates were not distinctive between the female and male breast cancer patients, she reports.
Curiously note: The men’s tumors were estrogen receptor-positive, which infers that tamoxifen seem too work as a treatment for male breast cancer, Giordano reports.
